THE CHALLENGE

Parenting a special needs child presents unique challenges that increase stress and depression. These struggles often extend beyond the care for the child into spousal relationships, sibling care and even self-doubt. Statistics show that the divorce rate increases, financial pressures build and emotional distress follows. This does not have to be the case.

It is estimated that seven to eight million people in the United States have an intellectual disability, which means that 1 in 10 families are affected. (1)

OUR ANSWER

Our Parent Support Program provides counseling, community support connections, lectures and group gatherings for parents of special needs children. Our goal is to help parents develop a support system and discover one of the most important and affirming realities: They are not alone on this unexpected, but wonderful journey
